The Team at Launchpad
Clare Turner MarshallI grew up in a family business, surrounded by those facing the ups and downs of business in an entrepreneurial family. Some of my earliest memories are of watching how hard my parents had to work just to sustain their business, which was ultimately a great success that allowed them to retire early.
From there it was difficult for me to consider being anything other than being an entrepreneur, however I learned a few things from watching the impact of work on family that I knew I wanted something different. Hard work is great but smart work is better so I set about gaining an understanding of business from many different perspectives. Dedicating my time and effort not solely on studying but getting out there and learning from real people. I understand the issues and challenges that you may face as a business owner as I have seen them time and time again, and I’ve learned from some of the best people in the business which now enables me to show you the safest path through the woods. My professional background is in the Financial Services Industry - working, mainly as a self-employed consultant, for 15 years for some of the largest corporate organisations. That was until I decided that it was the time to stand out on my own and really work with the businesses that I wanted to and make a much bigger difference. In the past 3 years I haven’t looked back, working with businesses of all sizes and genuinely making a difference to their future, it’s simply what business means to me. To get where you want to go, it’s essential to respect where you have been. Great working relationships are built upon trust and mutual respect. To take advice from someone you really have to establish who that person is and why what they have to say is relevant. For me it’s always been about people; people are definitely my thing. There is nothing quite like watching someone transform before your eyes and that is exactly what I see with the people I work with. Before I even sign a contract to work with someone I think it’s essential for us to talk and see if we like each other and then we can see if there is a good match. If it’s a ‘yes’, only then will we start the real work. |
